The students are researching their Explorers. They have been given QR codes to do the research. They then will make a product using different apps, telling us about their explorer. The students are practicing rounding. They roll the QR code dice to get a number like 27,389. Then they roll the QR place dice. It will say thousands or tens place etc. The students will then round their number. Even away from my kids, I learn. The teachers here have shared their noticing charts about how writers write. Here is an example: The students are planning their turkey in disguise creative writing piece. They first brainstormed in their writing journal and now they are putting their plans in the app called popplet. What were some of the dangers that early Explorers faced? Max and Caden asked each other the questions and wrote down each others responses. Hank is making connections to his own life to the storyline that happened in the chapters he read in Winn Dixie.
